The Melcher-Dallas Saints come in as Montezuma’s homecoming football opponent fresh off their first victory of the season, 44-30 over Seymour.
The game will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at Badger-Gabriel Field.
“They are coming off a game where they were able to do some things pretty well,” said Braves Coach John Beck. “They are much improved from last year, as some of their younger guys from last year have grown and developed.”
“Offensively, they like to stay in a double tight I set, or double tight set, with a man in the backfield and a wide receiver out, who they will put in motion,” Beck said.
“With that, they will run sweeps, powers, counters, and play action off those sets,” the coach said. “We will need to be disciplined with our assignments against them.”
“Defensively, they have two bigger ends they like to play wide. They like to stunt and blitz with the nose tackle and middle linebacker, so we will need to be aware of our assignments up front.”
