Savages hand Bravettes an 8-2 defeat

SIGOURNEY – After Sigourney got the line started, the Savages kept it moving in an 8-2 run past the Montezuma softball team on Wednesday evening, June 25.

The Bravettes took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Sigorueny scored 5 runs in the third and two more in the fourth to get a 7-1 lead and control.

Chloe Snook had one hit and scored one run for Montezuma.

Vivian Cook drew a base on balls, stole a base and scored a run.

Kamryn Schmidt had one hit.

The Bravettes stole two bases in all, and were guilty of one error.

Leah Urfer pitched all 7 innings, yielded 12 s and 8 runs, four of which were earned.

Josephine Moore starred in the batting box and the pitching circle for Sigourney.

Moore hit a home run and a double and drove in three runs.

In the circle, she pitched a seven-inning complete game, yielding 3 hits and two runs, one earned. She walked two and struck out 11.

Sigourney moved to 13-6 on the season.

Montezuma fell to 4-10.
