Schools prepare for encore year at state

Are we having state tournament fun yet?

YES!

And after having this unusual amount of post-season fun once last year, when both the boys and girls qualified, Montezuma schools have developed a routine, for this year’s repeat performance.

They discussed this in a letter to parents, staff and students.

Here are the major points:

There will be one pep assembly to celebrate both the boys and girls on Wednesday, March 4, at 10:20 a.m. in the north gym.

There will be a pep bus offered for all of the state tournament games. The sign-up sheet will be outside of Mr. Hoffman’s office. Parents may e-mail Becky Bryan or Mr. Hoffman to get students signed up for the bus.

Montezuma’s boys will play at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9. There will be no school on Monday, March 9, for any students, so that the community can support he team.

If the boys win their first game, they will play again Wednesday, March 11. School will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. All students will have an option to each school lunch on this day.

If the boys win on Wednesday, they will play the championship game on Friday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m. The schools will observe the same schedule on Friday as has been detailed above for Wednesday.

Should the boys win on Monday and lose on Wednesday, they will play a game on Thursday, March 12, at 10:20 a.m. The schools will be supportive of students who want to attend this game, but school will not be closed.

Thursday, March 12, will be a normal day of school and parent-teacher conferences will continue as scheduled.
