Which is better: A solid-fundamentals team with a tall point guard and a rangy front line (Albia) or a cat-quick four-guard team (Montezuma) that can score from anywhere on the court?
Well, we didn’t get the most definitive answer to that question when the two met Monday night, Jan. 13.
Reason: They battled into overtime and Albia came out on top, 58-55, handing the Braves their first defeat.
Albia, a Class 2A school, went to 8-1 on the season. The Braves are 7-1.
Trey Shearer scored 25 points for Montezuma and Cole Watts had 20.
UP NEXT – The Braves are at Iowa Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
