BELLE PLAINE – Call it a learning lab for the Bravettes volleyball team.
Belle Plaine handed Montezuma its first loss to a conference opponent Thursday evening, 3-1.
Scores for Belle Plaine were 25-13, 19-25, 25-15 and 25-20.
Belle Plaine, 18-6 and ranked 12th in Class 1A, hasn’t lost to a league foe.
The defeat ended a seven-match winning streak for the now 9-5 Bravettes.
The loss didn’t cost Montezuma anything in terms of its quest for a league championship, however. That title will be determined in the league’s tournament, to be held Monday and Thursday of the coming week.
UP NEXT – Montezuma will host the winner of a match between English Valleys and Lynnville-Sully on Monday, Oct. 12. Montezuma’s match should start in the vicinity of 6:30 p.m.
