MARENGO – Less than 24 hours after their first defeat, the Montezuma Braves rebounded with a 75-44 win over Iowa Valley Tuesday evening, Jan. 14.
The Braves, voted the top Class 1A team in Iowa in the Associated Press poll on Monday – the same day they suffered their first loss – took their record out to 8-1 on the season.
Trey Shearer scored 25 points, Cole Watts had 21 and Eddie Burgess put down 12 for Montezuma.
Iowa Valley tumbled to 2-9.
