Freshman Masin Shearer knocked down a pair of three-pointers, junior Cole Watts hit one, and Montezuma got out to a 13-2 lead on Lynnville-Sully just three minutes into their game.
The hits just kept on coming for the Braves, who led 30-3 after one quarter of their 77-40 home win over Lynnville-Sully on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The Braves shot .640 from the field on 33 makes in 52 attempts. Masin Shearar scored 24 points and led Braves scoring. He was nine-for-10 from the floor – including six-for-six from behind the three-point arc.
Junior Trey Shearer, honored before the game for scoring his 1,000th career point lately, scored 21 in this one.
Watts added 12 points.
Trey Shearer also led the Braves with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
The Braves, 5-0, led 57-20 at halftime and a 73-31 lead after three periods put a continuous clock in use.
Lynnville-Sully fell to 1-5 on the season.
