SCORES: Braves’ final comeback denied, 69-63

LONE TREE – Only the scoreboard, in its mechanical indifference, could call one team a loser here Friday night, Sept. 27.

Lone Tree got the ‘W’ over Montezuma, 69-63, in a weather-plagued shoot-out that saw the Braves come all the way back from a 21-0 first quarter deficit.

It was the first defeat for the now-4-1 Braves.

Montezuma took the lead at 29-27 midway through the second quarter after going on a 29-6 scoring run over 11 and one-half minutes.

Lone Tree came back to go up by 18 at 69-51 with 7:22 left to play.

Cole Watts scored Montezuma touchdowns with 3:22 and 1:44 left, but that’s where the game’s scoring finally stopped.

Be sure and stop back here later in the weekend for more details – and tons of statistics.
