The Montezuma Braves started fast and didn’t look back, racing to a 79-48 win over North Mahaska at home in the season opener for both teams Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Six different Braves splashed down three-pointer and three Montezuma players scored in double figures.
The Braves led 26-12 after one quarter, 41-20 at the half and 66-32 after three.
Trey Shearer scored 24 points and Cole Watts dropped in 22 for Montezuma. The Braves got 14 points, 11 rebounds and five steals from 6-4 sophomore Eddie Burgess.
