Scores: Bravettes refocus and win, 80-19

Athletes will tell you: After a major disappointment, the best tonic is to play again the next day. It happens often in baseball, not so much in basketball.

But, it happened for the Montezuma Bravettes Tuesday night, Jan. 28, after suffering their first defeat of the season at North Mahaska the night before.

The Bravettes did not waste the opportunity. They drilled visiting Colfax-Mingo, 80-19, on Senior Night.

Shateah Wetering poured in 31 points, Elise Boulton scored 17, and Dylan Holland had 13 as Montezuma ran its record to 14-1.

The Bravettes led on quarter scores of 24-6, 50-10 and 68-17 against the now-4-12 Tigerhawks.

UP NEXT – The Bravettes go after a bigger school, PCM, Thursday evening, Jan. 30, in Monroe.
