Shateah Wetering doesn’t insist of having her own way on the basketball court.
But if her way is open, she will take it, and did on Thursday night, Feb. 6. Wetering poured in 36 points as the Bravettes put up a 78-29 win over Belle Plaine on the home hardwood.
Shateah had help. Dylan Holland scored 11 ponits. Maddy McKeag had eight, and six rebounds. Shelby Conger scored six points and had six steals.
Elise Boulton had five points and five assists.
Wetering also led the team with eight rebounds, and got her 36 on 15-for-22 shooting.
The Bravettes shot .500 from the field to Belle Plaine’s .343, and had command of the boards by a 38-17 margin.
Belle Plaine is 9-11. The Bravettes went to 18-1.
NOTE: The girls union announced regional pairings Thursday. Montezuma is top-seeded in its regional and could play two games at home. North Mahaska, the only team to beat the Bravettes, is also top-seeded – in a different regional. More about that in a separate story.
UP NEXT – The Bravettes close SICL play Friday, Feb. 7, at Lynnville-Sully.
