MONTEZUMA – Pella Christian countered Montezuma’s adjustments, especially in the second half, and scored a 63-53 win over the Bravettes in the varsity season opener for both teams on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
The Eagles led 29-27 at halftime, and used their defense and passing ability to outscore Montezuma 34-26 in the second half.
Montezuma guards Elise and Mia Boulton and Jadyn Sharer rained down a total of nine three-pointers, but the Pella Christian defense prevented the Bravettes from generating a consistent inside attack.

JV’s FALL IN OT – Pella Christian won the junior varsity game 30-27 in overtime. The Eagles nailed a pair of three-pointers in the extra 3:30, to Montezuma’s one. Montezuma led 16-6 at halftime and 21-16 after three quarters.
