Montezuma senior Elise Boulton won the race and re-set her own school record on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 8, at the Montezuma Invitational.
The meet was run at Montezuma Country Club.
“Our varsity girls finished runner-up as a team by four points despite not having multiple varsity runners, a testament to strong individual performances and great team depth!” Coach Kevin Gartman said.
“Congratulations to Elise on setting a new school record for the Montezuma course tonight by 46 seconds while winning the individual girls championship!” Gartman added.
Montezuma’s varsity boys finished fourth, second of conference opponents, as they prepared for the SICL meet on Tuesday. Gartman said “there were several strong individual performances as well.
Junior high XC continues to run well & last night was no different. Here are our JH medalists: JH Girls: Ellen Cook- 1, Claire Erselius- 7. JH Boys: Luke Erselius- 5, Broox Stockman- 11, Jusiah Wetering- 12. Great job this season!!!!! Looking forward to years of future success.
