NEW SHARON – Montezuma hit North Mahaska with a quick defense and a bunch of three-balls in a 65-36 win over the Warhawks in the SICL opener for both teams Tuesday evening, Dec. 1.
The Bravettes’ defense kept space between North Mahaska’s guards and post players, making entry passes difficult.
Meanwhile, the Bravettes got good looks on offense and knocked down a dozen treys in the game.
Montezuma led 14-4 after one quarter, 27-17 at the half, and 50-29 after a 23-12 third quarter.
Elise Boulton scored 19 points and sophomore guard Madison Johannes dialed up 17 for the 1-1 Bravettes.
