MARENGO – Iowa Valley got Montezuma’s attention with a first set, 28-26 victory in their varsity volleyball match Thursday night, Oct. 1.
But the Bravettes quickly focused, tied the match by winning the second set, also by a 28-26 score, then closed it out with 25-16 and 25-15 wins for an overall 3-1 victory.
The win lifted the Bravettes to 8-4 overall and it was their sixth straight victory. It also kept Montezuma unbeaten against South Iowa Cedar Leauge opponents.
Iowa Valley fell to 2-12 on the season.
Montezuma’s frosh-soph and junior varsity teams both won their matches by 2-0 scores.
