MARENGO – Iowa Valley outscored Montezuma 38-12 in the second half to take a 52-31 win Friday night, Oct. 4.
Eddie Burgess touchdown passes to Cole Watts, Ben Jorgenson and Trey Shearer helped the Braves to a 19-14 halftime lead.
But the Tigers stepped up the pace after intermission, putting up three scores to the Braves’ one after a Montezuma touchdown made it 30-25 for the Tigers with 1:07 left in the third quarter.
The results left both teams with 4-2 overall records on the season.
