Putting four players into double figures, the Montezuma Braves rolled on Senior Night against Colfax-Mingo with a 70-49 victory.
The Braves, now 13-1, started fast and didn’t look back against the 9-5 Tigerhawks. Montezuma had quarter leads of 15-9, 36-23 and 56-31.
Trey Shearer led scoring with 21 points, to which he added five steals, four assists and four rebounds.
Cole Watts scored 16 points and hauled down 11 boards.
Eddie Burgess had another double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Brayden Arendt, one of just two seniors on the squad, was the fourth in twins with 12 points.
Brody Chidester is Montezuma’s other senior player. Seniors in the program, which includes six girls, were honored during the evening.
Montezuma shot .556 from the field, while Colfax-Mingo was at .373.
The Braves also had a 35-24 rebounding edge on a taller Tigerhawks team.
