KEOTA – It’s a long ride over to Keota.
It seemed even longer coming home for the junior high Bravettes volleyball teams on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The eighth grade fell 3-0 to Keota, while the seventh grade team lost 2-1.
“It was a small and scrappy Keota squad,” said Montezuma Coach Megan Carlson.
“We were unable to get a flow going in the matches and Keota never quit on any points,” she said.
The seventh grade fell on scores of 11-25, 25-17 and 23-25.
“This was a great team for us to play and I know that the girls will grow so much from this experience,” Carlson said.
The eighth graders fell 19-25, 20-25 and 24-26.
“We need to focus on being great communicators and working hard on every single point,” Carlson said.
“This group has grown so much and I know that they have so much potential,” the coach added. “They just need to settle down and set the pace for their matches.”
“With only one home match remaining, I know the girls will want to bounce back from a tough one,” Carlson said.
