MARENGO – The Braves won just one event, but seven second-place finishes powered Montezuma to a second-place team finish in the Rick Wanamaker Invitational on Thursday, May 4.
The Braves’ win was in the 3,200-meter run – and actually it was a one-two finish by Jayden Ross and Carter McKee.
The seconds included by Kenny Criswell in the 100 and 200, by the 4×800 relay, by Colton Benson in the 1,600, and by Garrett Watts in the 110-meter high hurdles and in the long jump.
Iowa Valley won its own meet with 161 points, while the Braves totaled 136.
