Montezuma High School senior student-athlete Shanae Wetering announced Tuesday, Dec. 14, that she will continue her education and basketball career at Clarke University in Dubuque.
Clarke, with an enrollment of 1,200, is an NAIA school that competes in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Wetering is a 5-11 power forward for the Bravettes.
In making her announcement, Wetering wrote: “I am excited to finally announce that I will be continuing my academic and basketball career at Clarke University!”
“I would like to thank all of my coaches, family, friends, teammates and above all my parents, for helping develop who I am as a person and as a player.”
“I thank God for all He has provided and blessed me with. I am beyond blessed to be a part of the Pride.”
Shanae is a daughter of Justin and Shiloh Wetering of Montezuma.
On Montezuma’s school website, Activities Director Tim Burgess wrote, “Congratulations Shanae Wetering on your commitment to play college basketball at Clarke University. They are getting a great player and an awesome person! We are so happy for you.”
