Montezuma has another all-state basketball player.
Senior Shanae Wetering has been named to the all-state third team chosen by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Shanae averaged 14.8 points per game for the 18-5 Bravettes. She shot .427 from the field, which included .328 from behind the three-point arc.
Shanae also averaged 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Shanae, daughter of Shiloh and Justin Wetering of Montezuma, will continue her education and basketball career at Clarke University in Dubuque.
Wetering’s coach at Montezuma, Janel Burgess, said, “She added dimensions to her game this year. At Clarke, she will continue to develop her basketball IQ. College athletics teach you a lot.”
