Montezuma Bravettes senior Shateah Wetering is a first team selection on the two major all-state basketball teams in Iowa.
The two organizations are the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Wetering scored 581 points this season for the 23-2 Bravettes. She totaled 1,558 during her four-year varsity career.
Shateah averaged 23.2 points per game this year on .570 field goal shooting, which included .376 from three-point range (47-for-125). She was a .795 (70-for-88) free throw shooter.
Wetering grabbed 167 rebounds this season and handed out 104 assists.
She had 76 steals and blocked 27 shots. And, she was called for just 21 personal fouls.
Wetering’s 1,558 points gave her a career average of 16 a game.
The Bravettes were 82-16 (.840) during her four varsity seasons, winning 20 or more games in three of those years.
