Shelby Conger signed her national letter of intent Saturday, May 2nd, to attend Iowa Central Community College.
Shelby signed on the track at Montezuma High School, while following social distancing guidelines!
Iowa Central is located in Fort Dodge and has developed a tradition of success in track and field. The women’s team finished second at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in March 2020.
This is a strong program and Shelby meets the criteria for continuing the success and moving to new heights.
Shelby has been a vital part of the recent success at Montezuma on the volleyball, basketball, and track teams.
In track, she holds the school record for the high jump at 5 feet, 4 inches.
Shelby helped lead the Bravettes to a third-place team finish at the 2019 state track meet, with a runner-up finish in the high jump. She also competed in the 4×800 relay.
During her career at Montezuma, Shelby qualified for state every year, placing 5th her sophomore year and being the state runner-up her junior year.
She also won indoor(2) and outdoor(1) conference titles in the high jump.
Shelby also qualified and competed at the Drake Relays her junior season.
Shelby has a loving and fun personality that makes her an absolute joy to be around. Her growth in track and field has helped her develop into a strong young woman and this is an exciting step for her to compete at the next level.
Shelby is one of the best to compete and graduate for Montezuma and everyone in the track program wishes her the best at Iowa Central Community College!
