
CEDAR FALLS – Montezuma Shooting Club members fared well in a state contest this month in Cedar Falls.
The contest was the Scholastic Action Shooting Program state championships.
Montezuma results included:
Centerfire Pistol
First place, men – Landen Morrison.
First place, all athletes – Landen Morrison.
All-state nomination and invitation to national contest – Landen Morrison and Wyatt Grimm.
Optic Rifle
First place, rookie men – Kaiden Arment.
First place, open squad – Megan McClenathan, Kaiden Arment, Dylan VanderLeest, Landen Morrison.
Iron Rifle
First place, rookie men – Mason VanderLeest.
First place, rookie squad – Mason VanderLeest, Jacob Meyer, Teagan Krousie.
Third place, open squad – Michael Hudnut, Abby Cheney, Brody Kriegel, Kayson Kriegel.
Second place, intermediate squad – Sophia Semprini, Wyatt Grimm, Olivia Latcham, Marley Stowell.

In addition, Justine Theis was saluted for having shot 125 straight targets, which Coach Stacie Cameron said, “is a major accomplishment in SASP.”
