The Montezuma Bravettes A-team basketball squad traveled to Sigourney to play the Savages.
The Savages had some nice guards and some size. Both both would frustrate the Bravettes.
Abby Bos hit a 3-pointer to give the Bravettes the early lead, but Sigourney would go on a 12-0 run. That run ended with Abby hitting another 3-pointer.
She would add a third before halftime as the Bravettes trailed 16-9. Sigourney would outscored the Bravettes 20-7 in the second half to win 36-16.
Montezuma went 3-27 on two-point shots, 3-8 from beyond the arc, and 1-8 from the line. Sigourney countered with 16-49 on two-pointers, 1-5 on three-pointers, and 1-13 on free throws. The Savages led in rebounds 39 to Montezuma’s 25. The Bravettes committed 25 turnovers and the Warriors 19.
Abby Bos led the scoring with 9 points including three 3-pointers. Teagan Sutherland scored 5 points. Aubrey DeJoode had 2 points, 3 steals and a block.
Alyssa Latcham was strong on the boards with 9 rebounds. She also had 3 steals. Lucy Semprini had 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Carleigh Klein had a block.
Up next, the Bravettes will play at home against BGM on Monday and travel to Keota on Tuesday.
