Last week we told you how well all 22 Montezuma performances did at the state individual speech contest. Such as: All 22 received at least one rating of (1), with several receiving three ratings of (1).
There’s more.
Now we’ve learned that six individuals in seven categories received nominations to the All-State Festival at the University of Northern Iowa and will be performing there on March 27.
“Seven nominations for a school our size is almost unbelievable!” faculty members Liesl Roorda and Kelly Kaup commented on the school’s website.
The seven performances are:
Faith Ferry – solo – musical theater
Madalyn Fleming, prose
Emily Jo James, poetry
Kaya Latcham, storytelling
Lily Shoemaker, acting
Lydia Singleton, acting & solo musical theater
“We are extremely proud to see their hard work pay off,” the faculty members wrote.
“This entire group of students has been exceptional this year. We have seen huge growth in how our students are becoming a supportive team, involved in one another and not just in themselves.”
