Spotlight on a Braves wrestler

By Al Rabenold

Marty Knox, the son of Kenisha Knox and Scott Simpson, is the newest member of the Braves wrestling squad.  Marty came from Oskaloosa soon after the wrestling season started.

The 16-year-old sophomore competed in the 220 wt. class this season.  He is in his fourth year of wrestling, having started as a 7th grader.

As a wrestler Marty hopes to become faster and stronger while building endurance.

This past fall he was recognized as the defensive player of the game for the Oskaloosa Indians football team.  Besides wrestling, Marty plans to be part of the Braves track team this spring.

His favorite academic class at MHS is English 2 and he also enjoys choir and just hanging out with his friends.

Marty’s future plans include playing college football while majoring in criminal justice.
