Storm washes out half of XC Invite

No more cross country tonight!

EDDYVILLE – The cross country course at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont is unique in this area.

It’s multi-terrain. It sits atop former strip mine lands, sand dunes, old roadways and a mosquito forest.

Add to that a swamp, after the rains washed out half the meet at the EBF Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The girls got to run. The boys didn’t, although they were fnished warming up in the bullpen.

Faith Ferry eyes the impending storm after emerging from the mosquito forest.

Lauryn Larmore continued her outstanding work at the junior high level. She won again, this time by about nine seconds in a clocking of 11:44.

Ellen Cook paced the varsity Bravettes with her 12th-place, 23:16 time.
