Superintendent thanks Montezuma community

April 21

I want to inform the Montezuma community that I have accepted a Superintendent position that is shared with the Maquoketa Valley and North Linn School Districts. I officially resigned from my position at Montezuma on April 8th.

Jane and I are very grateful to everyone at Montezuma. We have enjoyed our time here more than we could have even hoped. Thank you for welcoming and working with us during our stay.

Both North Linn and Maquoketa Valley are very good districts with strong academics and the Maquoketa Valley District is located about 15 minutes from Dyersville, which is where I grew up.

There is just something about home that draws many people back, and that includes Jane and I. We both have numerous family members in the Dyersville area. Being in a good district and being close to home made this an appealing position for me.

I can only hope that my next position will go as well as my position in Montezuma. The Montezuma District and all of the staff are as good as I can ever hope to be associated with.

I will be working through June with all of the staff as we complete this challenging school year and to prepare for the school year in the fall.

Jane and I want to thank the entire Montezuma community.

Sincerely,

Dave Hoeger,

Montezuma Superintendent
