Montezuma High School’s boys and girls track teams will be sending a total of 10 athletes in 7 events to the Class 1A State Track Meet on the Blue Oval at Drake University in Des Moines May 22-24.
Those are results of the state qualifying meet at Lynnville-Sully on Thursday, May 15. (Separate stories about those meets).
The Bravettes will send 6 girls in 4 events.
Chloe Snook qualified as the sixth-fastest in the 100-meter dash at 12.70 second, and 22nd-fastest in the 200 at 27.44 seconds.
The Bravettes 4×100 team was 14th-best at 51.83. Members are Lily Ferry, Syd Burgess, Ryanne Williams and Chloe Snook.
The Montezuma 4×200 team was 12th-fastest in 1:50.44. Members are Vivian Cook, Burgess, Williams, and Chloe Snook.
In all, Chloe Snook will be running in the maximum of 4 events. Burgess and Williams are in 2, and Vivian Cook and Ferry are in one.
For the boys, it will be one relay team and two individuals representing the Braves.
Montezuma/s 4×100 team was 16th-fastest qualifier at 44.56 seconds. Members are Brady Boulton, Broox Stockman, Luke Brennan and David Rose.
Rose was sixth-fastest in the 100 at 11.29 seconds. Broox Stockman was seventh-best in that same event in 11.31 seconds.
Rose and Stockman will be in two events each, while Boulton and Brennan will compete in one each.
