SEARSBORO – Ten Montezuma athletes earned medals as the Braves and Bravettes hosted the Montezuma Cross Country Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Big Springs Shooting Complex.
The varsity girls were second among four full teams.
The varsity boys placed third and just missed second place amidst five full squads.
Varsity girls medalists and their place finishes were 2, Claire Erselius, 6, Madison Johannes, 12, Lydia Singleton, 15, Ashlee Eilander, 17, Alivia Cline.
Varsity boys medalists – 9, Carter McKee, 13, Gavin Strong, 18, Jayden Ross. 19, Jack Erselius.
Junior high medalist – 5, Lauryn Larmore.
Varsity Coach Kevin Gartman thanked parents and volunteers who painted the course in preparation for the race.
UP NEXT – Montezuma competes Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the SICL meet at Sigourney.
