Three Braves medal at North Mahaska

NEW SHARON – Brett Plants won his individual weight championship and three Montezuma wrestlers in all reached the medalist stand as the Braves competed well in the 13-team North Mashaka Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Brett Plants won the 190-pound title.

Braxton Plants placed third at 215, and Evan Haughey was sixth at 165 pounds.

Also competing for the Braves were Conner Smith at 126, Isaac Wedgewood at 285, and Beau Young at 132.

Montezuma’s wrestling cheerleaders also had a busy day rooting on the Braves.

As a team, Montezuma scored 42 points to place 10th among the 13 teams.
