Needed at the Sigourney Junior High Relays on a raw, windy Monday, April 25 were: A communal place to get warm and a secluded place to pee.
Despite the conditions, Montezuma’s boys team competed quite well. The Braves scored 50 points, placing sixth in an 11-team field, which included some schools they rarely see.
Brook Stockman scored 25 team points, and Damien Knox put up 10.75.
Stockman won the 400-meter dash (1:01.94) by almost three seconds. He was second in the 200 (26.94), and third in the shot put at 36 feet, 4.5 inches. He also anchored a fourth place sprint medley.
Knox got over 5 feet, 2 inches, to place second in the high jump. He also helped in three placing relay events.
