THORNBURG – Tri-County has a group of girls that have some abilities, and they brought those to bear against Montezuma on the softball field on Friday evening, June 9.
The Trojans built a 5-0 lead through five innings, then weathered a late rally by the Bravettes to prevail by a final 5-3 score.
The win lifted Tri-County to 6-3 on the season. Montezuma fell to 5-7.
Delanie Little had her hands all over this Tri-County win. She pitched all seven innings and allowed just four hits. She walked four, but struck out eight.
Little also homered and drove in two runs.
Chloe Snook hit a triple for Montezuma and scored a run.
Kamryn Schmidt hit a double, and drove in a run.
Kallie Robison and Izzy Roorda each had one hit for the Bravettes.
Robison pitched the first 4.2 innings allowing four hits and a walk while striking out one.
Leah Urfer pitched 1.1 innings in relief, didn’t issue a walk and fanned two.
Lily Randall doubled and drove hom two runs for Tri-County.
Ayla Hall his a double, and Aaliyah Cooper stole two bases and scored a run.
Each side made two errors in a well-played game.
