Montezuma’s junior varsity girls stayed within striking distance through three quarters, but saw Twin Cedars sprint away to a 35-17 victory on Saturday, Nov. 21, at home.
The Bravettes led 7-6 through one quarter, but fell behind 18-11 at halftime. Twin Cedars led 24-17 after three, then outscored Montezuma 11-0 in the fourth quarter.
It was the JV season opener for Montezuma.
Kallie Robison led Montezuma scorers with eight points. Aliva Cline had 5, and Madison Van Zee and Jordan Ranfeld scored two points each.
The Bravettes led 26-22 in rebounds, but had 20 turnovers to the Sabers’ eight.
Montezuma shot .276 from the field, compared to .389 by Twin Cedars.
