Unbeaten Savages put up some numbers

Sigourney’s baseball team showed why it came in unbeaten with an offensive onslaught in a 15-2 win over Montezuma on Friday evening, June 10.

The Savages, 10-0 and ranked 10th in the Associated Press Class 1A poll, rapped out 16 hits in the game. They scored five runs in each of the first two innings to take control.

Owen Cook showed some offense of his own for the Braves by going 3×3 at the plate, stealing a base and scoring a run.

Garrett Watts was 1×3 and drove in a run.

Colton Benson pitched five innings for Montezuma and struck out two.Levi Crawford led the attack for Sigourney by going 3×4, with two doubles, a triple, and four runs batted in.

Cade Molyneux was 3×4, with a double and three RBIs.

The Braves fell to 0-8 on the season.
