REJUVINATING AND UPDATING of this sign at Sunnyview Square was recently completed as a service project of the Montezuma Lions Club by member Jerome Sheets, pictured at right. Handyman Sheets, who also built the original version of this sign, is a member of the board of directors that oversees the apartment complex. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Montezuma Lions Club’s purchase of a square city block of property, at a cost of $4,000, which the Lions club donated so that construction of the city’s first senior apartment units could begin in 1970.
