The varsity Bravettes played well together in a 3-0 conference match win over BGM on Monday evening, Sept. 20.
Scores for the Bravettes were 25-19, 25-10 and 25-12.
“We had a great night against BGM,” said Coach Rylie Little.
“We have lots to work on and a week to improve,” the coach said. That’s because the Bravettes don’t play against until Monday, Sept. 27, against Colfax-Mingo. “We will use this week to get ready,” Little said.
Shanae Wetering led the Bravettes with 13 kills and also had 5 digs.
Coral Lowry was 17-17 serving with 4 aces. Korrinn Kehoe was 17-17 with two aces.
As a team, the Bravettes served and a .919 clip and compiled 12 ace serves in the three-set match.
Montezuma advanced its overall record to 9-7, which includes a 3-0 mark in South Iowa Cedar League play.
BGM fell to 1-11-1 overall.
Montezuma also beat BGM 2-0 at both the freshman and JV levels.
