Warhawks end girls’ season, 10-0

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska beat Montezuma 10-0 in five innings to end the Bravettes’ season on Wednesday, July 7.

The game was a quarterfinals match in the regional tournament.

The Bravettes ran into a tough Warhawks team that was ready to play tournament softball.

Bravettes shortstop Izzy Roorda applies the tag, but the North Mahaska runner is already standing on second base.

Pitcher Madison McKay spun a five-inning one hitter, and the Warhawks defense played errorless softball.

North Mahaska also kept the line moving with 11 hits and the Bravettes were guilty of four errors.

Jadyn Sharer got Montezuma’s hit, a two-base knock.

McKay had a productive five innings. In addition to not walking anyone, she struck out 12.

McKay also went three-for-four at the plate, including a double, a home run and two runs batted in.

Zoe Deucore had two hits – a double and a homer – and two RBIs.

The Bravettes bowed out with a record of 9-21.

North Mahaska moved on at 18-10.
