Warhawks walk off the Braves, 5-4

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska plated two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to score a 5-4 walk-off win over the baseball Braves on Monday night, June 2.

Montezuma managed five hits, but also had six errors, which led to 4 unearned runs scored against Braves pitcher Luke Erselius.

But the Braves remained competitive by stealing 7 bases. Broox Stockman had four of those, Rett Pargeon had two and Easton Hudnut had one.

Hudnut, Stockman and Pargeon each had RBI singles for Montezuma. Luke Erselius hit a double, and Gavin Wilcox had a single.

Erselius pitched for the Braves, going 6.1 innings. He allowed 7 hits. He walked one and struck out 11.

Jaxon VanDerVeer pitched six innings for the North Mahaska win, striking out 8.

The Warhawks took their record to 3-2, while the Braves fell to 2-3.
