NEW SHARON – The games were well-played and close, and North Mahaska edged Montezuma in softball and baseball on Monday evening, June 28.
The softball game was a 4-1 win for the Warhawks.
In baseball, it was an extra inning thriller, with North Mahaska scoring a run in the ninth to win, 3-2.
The loss in softball dropped the Bravettes to 8-16 overall, including 4-10 in the league.
North Mahaska is 13-9, and 10-4.
The baseball win allowed North Mahaska to solidify its hold on third place over the Braves in South Iowa Cedar League play.
North Mahaska is 13-5 overall, and 9-4 against the league.
The Braves are 9-4 overall, and 8-4 in the SICL.
UP NEXT – The Bravettes are home to play Tri-County on Tuesday evening, June 29. it will be Little League Night. The Braves’ scheduled game against Tri-County has been canceled.
Both teams will play again on Wednesday, June 30, at HLV.
