“Wreaths Across America” came to Montezuma thanks to Russ Cox, Don Young and Roger Cox. The three used Jason Meyer’s trailer to go to Pekin and pick up the wreaths for transport to Montezuma.
Individuals picked up their wreaths to place on the graves of their Veterans. Then, an afternoon ceremony took place at the “All Veterans Monument” at the northwest corner of courthouse square.
Those in attendance included players from the football team and members of the Poweshiek Producers 4H Club. They helped place wreaths on Veterans’ graves at the cemetery.
