Wrestlers get season under way

SIGOURNEY – T. J. Townsend picked up Montezuma’s only victory in a contested match as the Braves opened their season with three dual meets on Thursday evening, Dec. 3.

Townsend, wrestling in the 285-pound class, pinned Issac Cox of Cardinal.

Mostly, though, it was a night of forfeits, for or against. The Braves actually wrestled four matches in the three dual meets.

Montezuma’s best team result was an 18-18 tie with WACO – in which every counting result was a forfeited match.

UP NEXT – The Braves are at home for dual meets on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
