CLARENCE – Montezuma 182-pound wrestler Zach Bennett ran his season record to 10-1 with a fifth-place finish at the prestigious North Cedar Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 11.
As a team, the Braves scored 13 points to place last among 14 teams.

Nathan Borton had a sixth-place finish at 106 pounds.
Gabe Wearmouth did not place at 160.
Bennett’s first loss of the season came in the opening round, a tough 5-3 decision to Aiden Salow of Maquoketa Valley.
Bennett had a second round bye in the wrestlebacks. Then, he was an 8-1 winner over Dade Altman of Solon, and he scored a 13-5 major decision over Luke Moses of Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
