The call of the races had a familiar refrain as the Braves and Lynnville-Sully battled at the top of the Rocket Relays at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday, April 23.
The Hawks beat the Braves for first place, but the two teams each scored a ton of points. It was an early preview of what the SICL meet will be like.
Montezuma, showing strength all over in its lineup, won seven events: the 100, 200, 110 high hurdles, 4×100, 4×200, shuttle hurdles and the long jump.
When the Braves didn’t win, they placed, usually near the top.
Coach John Beck will be along later this week with commentary on this meet during a busy, busy week at the high school.
