FAYETTE – If Upper Iowa University’s quarterback could pass the ball fairly close to tight end Eddie Burgess, chances are he caught it.
The photo with this story isn’t real sharp, but you get the message. It shows Burgess making a one-handed catch against Quincy in the Peacock’s season finale on Saturday, Nov. 11.
For the season, the 6-4, 250-pound Burgess, a sophomore from Montezuma, was Upper Iowa’s second leading receiver.
In 11 games, Burgess caught 43 passes for 616 total yards, a 14.3 average per catch.
He was on the receiving end of 8 touchdown throws, tops among the Peacock receivers. He had a long gain of 58 yards.
Upper Iowa completed a 3-8 season.
