CEDAR RAPIDS – Coe College student-athlete Owen Cook was honored by the American Rivers Conference on Monday, earning performer of the week honors from the league.
Cook, a freshman on the football team, stepped in to Coe’s field goal and extra point role after an injury, going 2-for-2 on extra points and 1-for-2 on field goals.
The Montezuma native made a key field goal from 20 yards at the end of the first half and also hit the game-tying extra point late in the fourth quarter to help send the game into overtime.
