Girls go 3-1 in SICL volleyball tourney

The volleyball Bravettes picked up some needed momentum going into post-season play by going 3-1 in the SICL tournament.

Montezuma picked up wins of 2-0 over Tri-County and 3-0 over English Valleys on Thursday, Ot. 12, on their home court.

The Bravettes split two matches in the tourney on its first day, Monday, Oct. 9.

Scores against Tri-County were 25-16 and 25-13.

It was tougher against English Valleys, but the Bravettes prevailed, 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22.

Montezuma is now 9-16 for the season.

The Bravettes start post-season play against Sigourney on Monday, Oct. 16, in Sigourney.

Sigourney was 15-8 on the year heading into Thursday’s round of play.

The Montezuma-Sigourney winner will advance to play the Belle Plaine vs. Baxter winner on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Sigourney.
