BGM scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning and took at 6-4 softball victory over the Bravettes in Montezuma on Monday, June 26.
Pitcher Kallie Robison had crafted a 4-1 lead through six innings. But BGM kept putting the ball in play and finally got results.
The loss dropped the Bravettes to 11-12, but they still have chances this week to get their record above .500.
Laila Kercheval went three-for-three, drove in three runs and stole a base for Montezuma.
Ellen Cook went two-for-four and hit a double, we believe for the fourth straight game.
Chloe Snook had a single and stole a base.
Madison Van Zee had a single, and Vivian Cook stole a base.
Robison pitched six full innings for the Bravettes, yielded six hits and four runs, all earned, didn’t walk anyone and struck out one. She was tagged with the loss.
Leah Urfer threw an inning in relief, and gave up two runs, both earned.
Ryanne VanDee had two hits and drove in two runs for BGM. Shaye Strong had two hits and one RBI.
Laila Morrison pitched all seven innings for the Bears. She gave up seven hit and four runs, three of them earned. She walked two and struck out two.
BGM left town with a 13-10 record on the season.
