OGDEN – It was a wild week for the Montezuma wrestlers because of the weather, but they made a couple of noteworthy trips.
Brett and Braxton Plants each won their individual weight championships on Saturday at the Ogden Individual Tournament.
Brett Plants won at 190 pounds, scroing four falls and taking a 7-1 decision on the day.
Braxton Plants won at 215, scoring four pins and getting a fifth victory on a bye.
Other Montezuma finishes:
165 – Evan Haughey, third.
126 – Conner Smith, fifth.
132 – Beau Young, fifth.
285 – Isaac Wedgewood, eighth.
The other trip was during the week to Iowa City, where members of the team took in a dual meet involving the nationally-ranked Hawkeyes.
